Elizabeth Doncheck, Ph.D.
Dr. Doncheck is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurobiology at UAB. She received dual B.A./B.S. degrees in Psychology and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee prior to her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Marquette University in 2019. She subsequently conducted her postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina before joining the faculty at UAB in 2025. See Google Scholar for list of publications.
Outside of the lab, she enjoys traveling, painting, live music, and spending time with her family (dogs included) and friends.

Brookelynn Reed, B.A.
Brookelynn completed her B.A. degree in Psychology with a Biology minor at California State University, Bakersfield in 2024. Since then, she has joined the Behavioral Neuroscience Ph.D. program at UAB, where she hopes to continue studying the neural mechanisms underlying substance use disorders.
On her off time, she loves hiking with her dog, arts and crafts, and spending quality time with friends & family.

Meso Ogwo
Meso is an undergraduate Neuroscience student with a minor in French who is pursuing an MBA and an MS in Biomedical Sciences.
Outside of class, she serves as the Healthcare Portfolio Manager of UAB’s student-led investment fund and is a member of the student government. Above all, she loves to spend time with her loved ones.

Zainab Syeda
Zainab is a freshman neuroscience major and neuroengineering minor on the pre-med track at UAB. She has a huge passion for the interactions of science and technology, and how they can help us better understand the complex human body and improve healthcare outcomes.
Zainab also loves to travel and experience new cultures, and even lived in Australia for 6 years. In her free time, Zainab loves to paint, crochet, bake, and spend time with family and friends.

Ayesha Sajid
Ayesha is a Cancer Biology major with a minor in Psychology and Public Health at UAB. She is especially interested in the connections between psychology, behavior, and health, and how understanding human decision‑making can improve patient outcomes.
Outside of class, Ayesha serves in USGA, works as a Resident Assistant, volunteers at Alabama Children's Hospital and is a board member of the Pakistani Student Association. In her free time, she enjoys doing henna and cooking.
